🇵🇰 🇭🇺 The Embassy of Pakistan hosted the first-ever Pakistani Rice Festival in Hungary, introducing Pakistani basmati to Hungarian importers, chefs and food connoisseurs.

Ambassador Asif Hussain Memon spoke on the heritage of Pakistani basmati, its export potential, and its protection under Geographical Indication. Himalayan Pink Salt and other Pakistani products were also displayed.

The centrepiece was a live demonstration of the art of making biryani, presented by Trade & Investment Attaché Shehryar Qaisrani. Hungary’s leading master chefs praised the aroma and quality of the rice. The guests were also invited to FoodAg 2026, Pakistan’s international food and agriculture exhibition, in Karachi from 23 to 26 November 2026.

At the end, guests received Pakistani basmati rice and a recipe book in Hungarian, allowing them to recreate the dish in their own kitchens.

Our thanks to KuktaParty Chef Academy for hosting the event.
