The 6th Round of Pakistan-Hungary Bilateral Political Consultations (BPC) was held in Budapest on May 27. The Pakistan side was led by Additional Foreign Secretary (Europe), Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan, while the Hungarian delegation was headed by Deputy State Secretary, Mr Laszlo Varadi.During the Consultations, both sides reviewed entire spectrum of bilateral ties, with particular focus on regular exchanges, trade and investment, parliamentary cooperation, education, oil and gas sector, and cooperation in multilateral forums. The two sides also expressed satisfaction on mutual support at the multilateral foras and exchanged views on regional and global issues.

Utilizing the opportunity, Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan called on State Secretary for Security Policy and Energy Security, Mr Petar Szataray and also met Deputy State Secretary for International Cooperation, Mr Atilla Hidegh.

Pakistan attaches high importance to its bilateral relations with Hungary, based on commonality of views on global issues and mutual desire to strengthen ties in all areas. The Bilateral Political Consultations provides an important platform to both sides to identify new areas of cooperation and exchange views on matters of mutual interest.
